WHO WE ARE
Around Uganda, Persons with Albinism live a disadvantaged life; one characterized by less privileges, fear and discrimination simply because of the superstitious beliefs attached to the condition as well as community ignorance.
Albinism Umbrella was formed with an aim to change the narrative about albinism, the widespread discrimination and inhumane activities done against Persons with Albinism.
Albinism Umbrella is a registered non-government organization that engages the community to reduce the vulnerability of Persons with Albinism; promoting and protecting their interests while preventing violation of their rights.
A society in which Persons with Albinism are dignified and realize their full potential.
To promote and protect the rights of Persons with Albinism in Uganda, through research, partnerships, and advocacy for their improved well-being.

We believe that all lives matter and are of equal value. We believe that dignity is the starting point for any development – oneself and community. In our dealing we shall work with compassion and also be keen in the restoration of dignity to those whom it has been denied as a key determinant of one’s quality of life.
Responsiveness
We believe in being responsive in matters that are life threating to Persons with Albinism. We act quickly, engage with relevant stakeholders, and seek to redress such situations through appropriate action, advocating for the relevant laws and policies. If need, we help the affected persons seek and obtain legal redress and/or justice.
